Fathers Day has always been a tradition of mine, way back to The San Diego Collection Days this event was always fun and full of memories, Chuck and I always left San Diego early morning on Father's day together. His family came up from San Diego on several occasions, my Father came out to meet me on several occasions. No matter what, everyone knew where we were planning Father's day and it was we were on Rodeo Drive. Now with Precious Metals Fine Motor Cars of San Diego this show is still a bit of a tradition we've been a few times over the years and have shown some nice cars!!!

What better backdrop than the high end retail stores of Beverly Hills, the center point of fashion, some of the finest luxury items around and nice dining and hotels in all the surrounding areas.

This year was probably the best, we had been entrusted with a magnificent vehicle. The 1934 Bugatti Aerolithe from the show Restoration Garage. We did the Restoration Garage TV show just a few months prior and they were so impressed with our operation they sent us the car, to display at a few local west coast shows while it was in the USA. The morning of Fathers day we made the trip to Beverly Hills, arriving early as we always do, we began preparation. When coming into the show to our amazement we were not directed to go left like every other instance before, we were routed in a different direction…To the center of the event!! Now this is something I have neve experienced in all my 23 years of attending the Concours on Rodeo…. Center Showing!!! This area was always reserved for the Bets of the Best names like Nethercutt Collection, The Peter Mullins Museum, Cars form The Blackhawk Museum were only ever offered this space but this year Precious Metals Fine Motor Cars of Sandiego was accepted…. A gracious recognition by the committee to say the least, once parked the ropes went up, the crowds began to gather.

The car had only once before been in the United States, now on a 6 month Visa the car was allowed to tour the US and its fits showing was Father's day, that day was spectacular. We took the Chairmans award for most elegant! The car made an impact with the crowd, most everyone had seen it on the show but never in real life. This was their opportunity, and the car did well to say the least.

FEW SHOWS and OUTTINGS that FOLLOWED

Our fun with the Bugatti Aerolithe didn't stop there, we did the Jay Leno Garage show with it. Jay Lenos collection was amazing and to be invited was such an honor, the video can be viewed below. We toured Jays collection and had lunch with him and the crew!!

We also decided to take the car to Rancho Sante Fe Cars and Coffee, that's right a Car and Coffee with the Aerolithe. It was quite a treat for the local enthusiast. Typically daily drivers and weekend touring cars are the theme but every now and then you'll see a F40 or a Vintage Porsches of importance, a long line of modern sports cars will attend but today on the street was the Bugatti Aerolithe. We amazed the crowd, many of the people in attendance never seen such a car and it was overwhelming the response and appreciation we received for taking the car up there.
