Ford finally got serious about performance for 1956 and 1957 with several variations of the 312 V8. The final years of the 2 seat T-Birds was designed to be the best by far. In addition to a power boost, minor cosmetic changes were available a beautiful continental kit came standard on 1956, the porthole top was option which then became standard in 1957.
This 1956 Thunderbird came out of a great collection in Arizona and sold to a local car collector. The vehicle is a numbers matching P-Code 312 V8 with ford-o-matic producing 225hp. Just in the past years the vehicle has undergone some extensive sorting out, the engine was recently tuned up, new exhaust, new braking shoes and wheel cylinders. Steering system was gone trough with control valve steering box selector seal, gear oil and alignment. New pinion seal for differential. Brand new air compressor and hoses changed to R134. New battery, turn signals and cancel switch, dimmer switch, new flashers, new windshield wiper motor and blades. New gas tank Fuel sender unit, new fuel pump, rebuilt carburetor. Radiator serviced and flushed new coolant recover tank, radiator electric fan. Heater system with new motor, control valve vent cable. All fluids and Wheel bearings, New glass front and back, new door locks etc we have fresh receipts for about $10,000 dollars the car is very well sorted everything works properly there are no issues or concerns to consider this is a very nice car for someone.
