Won a 1st place for Sports and Classics

The Car Classic at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena has a variety Southern California car culture. It's the kind of event where you might see a Duesenberg alongside a Porsche 917 racer, a classic Ford Mustang fastback, a Gullwinged Mercedes-Benz 300SL and a McLaren P1, all on the same lot.

Themed "Street to Screen," this year's Car Classic focused on movie cars. In attendance was the Batmobile cars, including those from the 1960s television series, 1995's Batman Forever and 1997's Batman & Robin. Some of the fast and Furious cars were there Honda S2000 from FF7, a contemporary Chevrolet Camaro SS from Transformers, a '67 Volkswagen-based Mystery Machine van from Scooby-Doo and a 1960 VW Beetle from Herbie. Again allowing us insight into the minds of the young talent. The college offered tours of its facilities - including the design studios, 3D rapid prototyping equipment and galleries of some of the fine work performed by the students.

This was our first year of attendance as Precious Metals. We entered a 1969 Lamborghini Iselro S, and a 1972 Jarama GTS dual-sunroof car. To our surprise we were honored with a win in the Sports and GT class for the Islero. We had also driven up our Mclaren MP4-12c Arts Center Alumni Frank Stevenson the Mclaren designer was there and giving a speech, several other McLaren’s attended and no 12c was represented we were asked to put our vehicle on display to fill the line-up not only 2 cars on the field but a third, we were very happy to help.
