Coronado Celebration 92118 day

Coronado - September 28, 2018

Yesterday was a very fun and exciting event to celebrate Coronado the 92118 Day was a success for the city, its vendors and the community as a whole.

We at Precious Metals Fine Motor cars of San Diego focused on the Historical Automobile Division of the event and our very own Judith Mansfield orchestrated a unique an stunning automobile display!! Many of the cars were long ago purchases by Local Coronado residents, including the 48 year ownership of the 1962 Cobra Bill Gise who bought the vehicle in 1970, an original purchase 1923 Ford Model T was used as a Laundry truck by the Hotel Del and on display, that vehicle had lived on the Island since it was retired by the Del sometime in the 1930's, the 1938 Coronado Fire truck was a nice treat to see and the kiddos loved it. Seeing the 1908 Reo drive into and leave the event was quite exciting for many of the spectators.

Of course our cars the Lamborghini 400 2+2 and the 1955 Mercedes Gullwing that won the Mayors choice awards at the most recent Coronado cars on main street were local favorites, and at the end of the night we found this young lad playing in our 1978 Land Rover Series 3, lol lol (he was mine)

Combining Music, Vendors and Food Ocean Blvd was packed and everyone came out to support the community and its history. Sampling some the great local eateries was a fantastic way to bring attention to some of little hidden gem restaurants of Coronado!! if you have not been over the Bridge recently please come out for a day to sample some exquisite cuisine.

Fireworks on the Beach was a nice addition and a amazing closing ceremony to this Wonderful and Historic evening.
