This is the second year we have enjoined this fantastic event. Last year we not only had the best spot but we also won 1st place and got to tour the track with the 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air. We'll for 2015 we surpassed last year's achievements and won 2 awards first place in the Convertible class with the 1970 Chevelle LS6 and we won the Truck class with our 1957 Chevy. This is such a great event to help support our troops over 500 cars attend over 300 racers fire up their vintage rides for a quick lap or two around the track. Most all the local car clubs make an appearance and show their support as well. We arrived early as usual and with a unique variety this year. Of course the McLaren showed up, we had the 1961 Jaguar Kougar, 1970 Chevelle LS6, and 1957 Chevrolet Pick Up made a trip over the bridge. We hoped for a win with the Jaguar Kougar so we could exercise her around the track for a minute, but unfortunately we lost out to a Kurtis. Check it out next year typically in October. I have been attending for over 13 years, its always a fun day with excellent activities for the kids. 2016 will be in September check out www.fleetweeksandiego.org for more info.
