British Rolling Tour

British Rolling Tour
British Car Club Council
April 19th 2015

Every year this is an exciting event for the British car enthusiast. Many of the local British car club chapters come together for this 1 day event. This year we started out at the Elephant Bar in Poway, Ca. We toured the back country on a 100 mile tour, we found ourselves arriving in Julian, a small mountain town known for their pies and country stores. Then we continued on through the Pala Indian reservation to the Pala Country Club resorts where we all parked and had lunch. Perry and I each brought a car, fresh from our inventory. Perry drove this lovely 1961 Jaguar Kougar, we just acquired the car one month earlier and it was time to do a test run. I followed the Doc in a 1969 Jaguar E-Type another one of our favorite tour cars from the collection. Each car performed as well as expected, with the exception of pulling over because a turn signal was confused for an out of gas light. The day went great.

This year, for 2016, the 21st Annual Rolling British Car Day salutes British vehicle manufacturing, there will be many types of British cars, old and new, and perhaps some British motorcycles as well.

Our route will take us through scenic areas, and arrive just before lunch time at Deer Park Winery, where we will have a picnic lunch. Deer Park Winery has a Wine Tasting Bar, an Automotive and Memorabilia Museum, and a small Deli. Each paid car will be given one voucher for admittance to the Automotive Museum, additional people in your car can choose to pay to go through it. If you wish to attend it's on April 17th 2016 and information can be found at www.sandiegobritishcarday.org .
